Star Wars: The Clone Wars available on Netflix

It was announced today that Star Wars: The Clone Wars‘ final unaired season 6, dubbed “The Lost Missions”, will be exclusively available for Netflix on March 7th. So far only US and Canada members are the only ones able to view it right now. Hopefully it will be available for everyone’s viewing pleasure at a later date.

Along with the final season, viewers will be able to watch previous seasons, like some director’s cut episodes that were never seen on TV as well as feature films. This is a multi-year agreement, making Netflix the sole subscription service for the entire Star Wars: The Clone Wars series.

According to StarWars.com:

In these eagerly anticipated episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, some of the deepest mysteries of the conflict between the light and the dark sides of the Force are revealed. An intrepid clone trooper discovers a shocking secret, Anakin Skywalker’s closest relationship is tested to its limits, and what Master Yoda discovers while investigating the disappearance of a Jedi could forever change the balance of power in the galaxy. Fans will not only be able to watch the thrilling finale, they’ll be able to see more of Star Wars: The Clone Wars than ever before as Netflix will also stream the director’s cut of seasons one to five.

This is the first time any Star Wars title have been available for Netflix and its members. This follows the deal that Netflix has with The Walt Disney Company to bring its audience original Marvel titles in 2015. Netflix will also be the exclusive US subscription for first-run, live-action, and animated movies from the Walt Disney Studios including titles from Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, Disneynature, and Lucasfilm beginning in 2016.

This is great news for everyone. Well, maybe not everyone, but great news nonetheless. I am excited to watch Star Wars: The Clone Wars after hearing so many good things about it. It was pulled off air just before I got a chance to actually watch it, so with this news I can now go on a binge and watch everything.

Are you excited for this news? Let us know.
