Composer Jesper Kyd’s Metal Hurlant Chronicles OST available February 25

Metal Hurlant Chronicles Cover

Metal Hurlant Chronicles is a sci-fi anthology series that’s based on the Metal Hurlant magazine (known here in the States as Heavy Metal). It’s currently airing in France, but we have yet to hear news about the release here in the States. The series has got an impressive lineup including Rutger Hauer (Batman Begins), Kelly Brook (Piranha 3D), Scott Adkins (The Expendables 2), Michael Jai White (Arrow, Spawn), Joe Flanigan (Stargate Atlantis) and James Marsters (Buffy The Vampire Slayer). One of my favorite composers, Jesper Kyd, has scored the music for the show. If that name doesn’t sound familiar, he has composed music for AAA video game franchises including Assassin’s Creed, Borderlands and Hitman.

Even though we’re not sure when the show will be getting here, you can soon check out the original music score from the first season. It’ll be made available digitally iTunes in North America and Europe on February 25, 2014. You can pre-order now at the Sumthing Else Music Works site.

Also, check out our interview with Jesper Kyd on Assassin’s Creed here.

Synopsis: “In the lineage of cult series such as The Twillight Zone, The Outer Limits and Tales From The Crypt, METAL HURLANT CHRONICLES is the science fiction live-action adaptation of stories from the eponymous world-renowned magazine that gave birth in the United States to Heavy Metal. From 1960s cold war drama to distant future, fantasy to medieval, METAL HURLANT CHRONICLES spans a wide range of self-contained stories linked together by an asteroid, called the ‘Métal Hurlant’, which passes close to the planet where each episode’s story is taking place, thereby changing the outcome.”
