Did Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor steal Assassin’s Creed II coding?

Monolith (Guardians of Middle-earth) has released a video for a new Lord of the Rings game called Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The video features an 8-minute gameplay walkthrough with the developers, and it had a lot of people hyped. One person isn’t too happy about the gameplay though. Former Ubisoft developer, Charles Randall, has taken things to the Twitter universe to express his feelings.

“Check it out guys! I apparently made a Middle Earth game!”

He then continues on with his annoyance.

“Seriously, can someone tell me how Assassin’s Creed 2 code and assets are in this Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor game?”

And this

“I know I don’t have any legal rights to what I did on Assassin’s Creed 2 but I sure hope I get a special thanks on that Middle Earth game.”

One said that the Shadow of Mordor game resembles the Batman Arkham games more. He replied back with:

“I spent two years staring at AC2. I know it when I see it.”
