CES 2014: Bolt II the Steam Machine form Digital Storm
At CES 2014 Digital Storm is showing off the Bolt II, a high-end PC that packs both Windows and Valves’ Steam Machine. The small form factor (SFF) hybrid machine is also the first liquid cooled Steam Machine.
This second generation of the Bolt has been redesigned with better accessibility in mind, making it easy to replace or upgrade components like the graphics card, storage devices, optical drive, and the cooling system. The redesign also has improved airflow over the graphics card, cooling system, and power supply to keep the system cool and quiet during regular or heavy use.
Digital Storm also packs its proprietary HydroLux control board to give you full control over the systems cooling power to give you that balance between temperature and fan noise, and it also controls the LED lighting within the system to give you some nice visuals.
With a price tag starting at $1899, this is no cheap system. Rajeev Kuruppu, Digital Storm’s Director of Product Development, had this to say, “We’re taking aim at the high end of the market, targeting consumers that demand the best possible gaming experience and who are looking for a PC capable of playing any title on their new 4K display.”
The Bolt II will be available later this month.
