Sleeping Dogs and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light are free for a limited time for Xbox Live Gold members

I’m a huge fan of free games. I’m an even bigger fan of free games that are actually good. So far PlayStation Plus members have been getting a lot of cool and free PS3 games including Shadow of the Colossus, Borderlands 2, and pretty soon BioShock Infinite and DmC: Devil May Cry. (Okay, so you have to pay for the membership, but it still is a good deal.)

The Xbox 360 has a lot of catching up to do, but it has recently made me enjoy being an Xbox Live Gold member with the first episode of The Wolf Among Us being free. Now Sleeping Dogs is free for a limited time (from January 1st to January 15th). If you haven’t played it, it’s a pretty fun game where you get to drive cars and use martial arts on thugs in China.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a top-down shooter with platforming, puzzles, and online co-op. For only $7.49, you shouldn't miss out on this

Starting January 16th, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be free for Xbox Live Gold members. The free game offer will last until the end of the month.

The cool thing about the free games is that if you’re no longer an Xbox Live Gold member, the game is still yours to keep; unlike the PSN Plus account where the free games that you have acquired will no longer be playable.
