Official: Paul Rudd set to star in Ant-Man film

Marvel announced today that Paul Rudd is officially set to star in Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man film. There was speculation and leads stating he was most likely going to get the job, but now Marvel has confirmed the news.

Marvel’s head honcho, Kevin Feige, said about the decision:

We knew early on that we had found the right person in Paul. When he not only agreed to do it but became as enthusiastic as any actor we’d ever met with about doing the work, we knew we’d found the right guy. We couldn’t be more excited for our audiences to see what he’s going to do to bring Ant-Man to life.

There is no clear confirmation if Rudd will be playing Dr. Hank Pym or Scott Lang (the second Ant-Man). Wright has stated that he would include both Pym and Lang into the feature film. Most of the new sources are confirming he will be playing Dr. Hank Pym since this is a introduction story. The script is finished but has been kept under wraps.

Either way, I am satisfied with the decision. It’s about time for Paul Rudd to be a superhero. He has the acting chops, the looks, and can add some hilarity to the role. I can’t wait to see him as Hank.
