The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer reveals an electrifying viral website

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer had its fair share of Easter eggs, but one that slipped through the cracks is this little website address that is embedded in the video. Beginning at the 2:09 mark in the trailer, the address, electroarrives.com, is overlaid on a beam of blue light that is shooting out of Electro’s head.

As you can see, this Easter egg is really hard to find until a keen eye over at Empire Online spotted the url. As of right now, visiting the site will give you a look at Harry Osborn looking at a fancy HUD shows Max Dillon falling into a tank. On the HUD, the words Ravencroft, Max Dillon experiment, Dr. Connors file and Dr. Morbius file are visible. Along with those Easter eggs is a countdown that will reach zero on New Year’s Eve.

Electro Arrives

What happens when the clock hits zero is anyone’s guess. Will Times Square be visited by Electro, will something happen on the website? We’ll have to wait and see on New Year’s Even to find out.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 webslings into theaters May 2, 2014.
