Game of Thrones’ Joffrey will quit acting after series is over

Game of Thrones 10

By just reading the title, I would think that actor Jack Gleeson, who plays the despicable young King Joffrey in HBO’s Game of Thrones, is quitting acting probably because many fans hate his character. The real reason he wants to quit acting after he’s done with Game of Thrones is because he doesn’t care about the celebrity status. He admits that acting at first was more for fun, but as his fame rose, the celebrity world became something he’s not interested in.

“[Acting] was always a recreation beforehand, but when I started doing Game of Thrones perhaps the reality was made too real for me… The lifestyle that comes with being an actor in a successful TV show isn’t something I gravitate towards.”

Gleeson did say that there is some good to being a celebrity, and that is to use his voice to help others in need. He recently went to help aid Haiti under relief agency, Goal. If you didn’t know, Haiti was a victim of a devastating earthquake in 2010.

“I’d been looking to use the celebrity I’ve got from the show to bring awareness for causes Goal supports.”

You may hate him as the King of the Seven Kingdoms, but you have to admire him for his goals in helping out others.
