Aaron Taylor-Johnson closes deal to become Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron

It has been reported before that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to play Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver, in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron film. Now according to The Wrap, they have the scoop that he has “officially” closed the deal to becoming the gifted speedster. Their source is an individual who is familiar with the sequel and has said that Aaron’s Godzilla reboot publicity tour won’t conflict with the shooting schedule of Age of Ultron.

So far we know that Joss Whedon has added Quicksilver and his sister, Scarlet Witch, to the Avengers roster. He has also hinted that the siblings will be an obstacle to the Avengers. We also know that the sequel won’t have Magneto or have the siblings be called mutants, since Fox owns the rights to those for its X-Men films.

So what will they be called? Well, in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD series, the episode that featured Scorch is considered a gifted person. Perhaps Whedon will switch mutants with the gifted.

Avengers: Age of Ultron assembles in theaters May 1, 2015.
