Stunning ‘Sailor Moon’ fan art

Although there have been many pieces dedicated to Sailor Moon over the last decade or two, Charlie Bowater from the United Kingdoms has created one of the most stunning renditions of Sailor Moon thus far. Using a strong contrast from darkness, then softening towards light, the detailing of this simple composition evoke a majesty fitting of this Silver Millenium Princess. Although it does not possess the same anime/manga designs common to Sailor Moon fanart, this has to be one of the most beautiful depictions that are closer to realism that I’ve seen.

I adored Sailor Moon from the very first second I saw it on tv. I would wake up at the crack of dawn before school to watch this and then race home again afterwards to watch the repeat. I think it’s about time I paid homage to one of my favourite anime’s ever; Sailor Moon!

For this piece, she used Adobe Photoshop 5 and Wacom Intuos 5.
