DW50th: US 3D screenings of Doctor Who’s The Day of the Doctor

doctorwhoThe 3d screenings of The Day of the Doctor has been announced!!!

BBC America announced today that there will be RealD™ 3D screenings on November 23rd and 25th.

They will be working with AMC Entertainment, Cinemark Holdings and Regal Entertainment to hold Doctor Who screenings on November 23rd simultaneously with the airing on BBC One/America. Tickets for the Saturday, November 23rd screenings will go on sale on October 25th at 9am (Eastern Standard Time) for New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle, Washington DC, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and Minneapolis. Tickets can be purchased at Cinemark.com and Fandango.com.

For those going to a Doctor Who party to watch the Anniversary Special, you can watch it in 3D on Monday, November 25th.  BBC America and Fathom Events plan to do a one night: Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor in RealD™3D. Tickets will be available at participating theater box offices and online at www.fathomevents.com.

The theater screenings will also include behind the scenes footage from The Day of the Doctor, which will also be online.

 The theatrical events will include specially shot introductions and The Day of The Doctor: Behind The Lens, a 10 minute behind-the-scene featurette directly following the special**. The short features Matt Smith, David Tennant and Jenna Coleman with Billie Piper and John Hurt, as well as lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat, discussing their 50th Anniversary experiences.
