Elizabeth Olsen has been rumored to play Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Now Nick Fury himself, Samuel L. Jackson, has revealed in an interview with WSJ that Olsen will be playing the magical mutant who can manipulate probability. In the House of M comic, she was able to alter reality (now that’s power).

Jackson also revealed that principal production is going to begin in March 2014.

“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year,” Jackson said of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, the next film to begin shooting in the Marvel universe. ”I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”

Wow, it seems like Jackson is just revealing these news like nothing. Marvel hasn’t officially stated it yet, but this looks to be heading into the confirmed territory.

Joss Whedon described how the Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver dynamic was going to work in the film.

“You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.”

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be in theaters on May 1st, 2015.
