Samuel L. Jackson to star in live-action anime adaptation, Kite

Check out this photo of Samuel L. Jackson in the live-action anime adapted film, Kite. He’ll be portraying corrupt detective, Karl Aker (the original anime name is Akai). Kite is a pretty disturbing anime that follows schoolgirl Sawa as a hired assassin. Her parents were killed and she has been taken in under the guardianship of detectives Akai and Kanie.

If the live-action movie follows the anime closely, this means that Samuel L. Jackson will be playing one disturbing detective. Akai had Sawa become his sex slave and forced her to kill. He also gave her earrings that contained blood from her dead parents.

Sawa will be played by India Eisley (Underworld: Awakening, Disney’s Maleficent). Oburi, the boy assassin who she becomes friends with, will be played by Callan McAuliffe (The Great Gatsby). McAuliffe is pictured in the above picture. Kite is expected to be released in 2014.
