Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer reveal event presented by Xbox

Call of Duty: Ghosts has plenty of hype. The team at Activision and Infinity Ward have been working hard releasing a brand new game and experience every year with the Call of Duty brand. Ghosts is no exception especially since it is also the first Call of Duty game that will be released for the upcoming Xbox One and PlayStation 4. During the conference it was announced that Xbox 360 players will be able to play and interact with their friends on the Xbox One, and similar with PlayStation 3 and 4 owners. Once you decide to upgrade to the next generation experience you will be able to take everything you’ve earned and worked hard for like experience, created characters and unlocks over to your next system. You can even go over to a friend’s house and have all your info with you since it’s all stored within the servers.

IMG_9883The event was invite only that was held in Los Angeles. Invited were members of the Call of Duty community, pro Call of Duty players from around the world, and members of the press were. They were on hand to witness in person all the multiplayer reveals, and an opportunity to get hands on. While the CEO of Activision, Eric Hirshberg, announced that everyone at the event would receive free Prestige editions, he also announced that there will be Call of Duty: Ghosts events happening all around the world, and the first few hundred people at these events will also be getting this special item. Make sure you keep up with all the news at the Call of Duty: Ghosts website to find out where the first stop would be.

They also talked about competitive play with MLG and the Call of Duty Championships, which was held for the first time back in April. MLG will be featuring Ghosts exclusively after the game is released as it is one of the most popular shooter games worldwide, and with the new changes I can expect to see more and more people joining new teams with practice in Squad mode with its very heavily improved A.I.

After all was said and done, everyone was given the rest of the day to chat with players, play the game and even record their own gaming sessions on playable Xbox Ones and PCs featuring Turtle Beach headsets. We got to play the announced multiplayer modes which included my favorite Cranked mode.

If you missed the reveal for Cranked, you can watch the video below.

Cranked mode reminded me of the 2006 movie Crank starring Jason Statham where he needs to be juiced on adrenaline at all times or he dies. Cranked mode is similar except you have 30 seconds to kill your next opponent before you explode. The more you do, the faster and more abilities you get until you explode or get taken out. It’s tons of fun.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC and Wii U on November 5th. The PlayStation and Xbox versions will also have both a Hardened and Prestige Editions available.
