Star Wars Celebration VII heads to Anaheim, CA just in time for Episode 7 in 2015

Star Wars Celebration is the official Star Wars convention produced by Lucasfilms. The convention travels all over the world every few years starting in 1999. The years are very sporadic, usually to coincide with the release, re-release or anniversary of a Star Wars movie.

During Star Wars Celebration Europe II closing ceremony this past weekend, it was announced that Star Wars Celebration VII will be heading to the Anaheim Convention Center in California from April 16-19, 2015. This will be a big event as it will be coincide with the release of the first sequel, Episode 7, to the original Star Wars trilogy being directed by J.J. Abrams.

This isn’t the first time the Star Wars Celebration event was held in California, as the previous one, Celebration IV, was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This also isn’t the first time a Star Wars Celebration was held inside Orange County, since the two previous American Celebrations were held in Orlando, Florida.

Now that Star Wars is a part of Disney, it’s no surprise that the event is being held in Anaheim. The city is the location of the original Disneyland and a place that Disney likes to use to promote their properties; for example, D23 Expo.

Oh yeah, I live in the city of Anaheim, so I’m definitely excited about this news.
