Celebrities on J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII


TotalFilm spoke to celebrities at various press junkets about their thoughts on JJ AbramsStar Wars: Episode VII. The responses have been hilarious!

Ewan McGregor, who was Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequels, said he would love to be part of it again.

Rachel Weisz, Amy Adams, Dwayne Johnson, Steve Carrell, John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Ken Jeong, Mark Walhberg, Ed Helms, Mark Strong, Sir Ben Kingsly, and Nicholas Cage said they would be interested in being part of Star Wars. Tony Hale of Arrested Development, would take a part… as “Jiro Binks” [Jar Jar Binks]. Michael Shannon said he would love to play Greedo. YES. Melissa McCarthy joked she would love to be Chewbacca if given the chance.

Mila Kunis, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen said they’re more of Star Trek fans. Star Trek Into Darkness Zoe Saldana said she would love to be part of Star Wars especially with Abrams’ style. Her Trek costars Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine joked they were playing a Ewok and the Millennium Falcon.

Star Wars: Episode VII begins filming in the beginning of 2014 and are still casting for the roles.
