Michael Keaton Birdman

Photos have surfaced of Michael Keaton‘s upcoming movie Birdman (alternative title: The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).  Directed by Alejando González Iñárritu (21 Grams, Babel) and starring Keaton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Edward Norton and Zach Galifianakis, Birdman is “a dark comedy that tells the story of an actor (Keaton) – famous for portraying an iconic superhero – as he struggles to mount a Broadway play. In the days leading up to opening night, he battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his career, and himself.”

Keaton plays the lead and pokes fun of his past as Batman in Tim Burton’s movies – 1989’s Batman and 1992’s Batman Returns. Norton, who also starred as a superhero – The Hulk, is set to play the “egotistical lead stage actor”who tries to prevent Keaton’s Broadway play from happening. Stone, who plays Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man and sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2, will play Keaton’s daughter – a struggling actress recently released from rehab and now Keaton’s assistant.

With the cast and crew listed, this movie has potential to be a great movie.

The film is set to release sometime in 2014.
