Update: Kevin Conroy posted on his Twitter that he is going to be in the next Arkham game after Arkham Origins. The post has since been removed.

We reported earlier today that Kevin Conroy was doing voice work for Batman: Arkham Origins. Even though he didn’t confirm whether he was going to voice Batman, many fans assumed that he was. Now IGN reports that Kevin Conroy will not be voicing Batman, and that coveted role will go to Roger Craig Smith. If that name doesn’t sound familiar, he did the voice for Ezio in the Assassin’s Creed series, Sonic the Hedgehog in Wreck-It Ralph and other Sonic games, and Chris Redfield.

Now that the Joker has been revealed to be in the game, was Mark Hamill going to return? It looks like when he said that Arkham City was going to be his last for that franchise, he meant it (let’s hope it’s temporary). The Joker will now be voiced by Troy Baker. He’s the voice of Joel in Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us and Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be available worldwide on October 25, 2013, for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U.
