Star Trek Into Darkness gets a disappointing opening, but at least we have the Harp Twins

Star Trek Into Darkness Spock

Star Trek Into Darkness came out in theaters this week and became the #1 movie with a $70.6 million opening. If we include the grossing starting on the opening day (Thursday) to now, the movie’s grossing would be over $84.1 million. Even though the movie is the number one movie this week, ticket sales weren’t able to meet expectation, as Paramount was predicting a $100 million opening. It grossed less than the first J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek movie, which opened at $75.2 million and grossed $86.7 million for the first four-and-a-half days.

With that said, it’s still doing good, but just not in the way that we would expect from a sequel, since sequels usually perform better than their predecessors.

Star Trek Harp Twins

At least Paramount will still make money, so what better way to celebrate than to watch our favorite Harp Twins performing the themes from Star Trek.

The girls are decked out in the yellow Starfleet uniform as they perform in the desert (Yeah, it’s a good thing they’re wearing yellow and not red).
