So we might get a black Human Torch for Fantastic Four reboot

Whenever a comic book character changes color when adapted to the big screen, you can bet your ass there will be some controversy surrounding it, including some fans getting bent out of shape. Now the Fantastic Four reboot might face a similar fate with news of actor Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle) being in talks to play the Human Torch.

According to The Wrap, many sources have been saying that Jordan was involved in many meetings with the FOX, and he’s pretty close to Fantastic Four director Josh Trank, who directed Jordan in Chronicle.

If he does get the part, what does that make of the recent news that Alison Williams is one of many potential actresses to play The Invisible Woman? Whatever it is, somebody is adopted.

This isn’t the first time a white comic book character has turned black. Idris Elba played Heimdall in Thor, Michael Clarke Duncan played Kingpin in Daredevil and Laurence Fishburne will be playing Perry White in the upcoming Man of Steel. White actors also had a chance to play minority comic book characters including DB Sweeney as Terry Fitzgerald in Spawn and Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin in Iron Man 3.
