The next Call of Duty game is NOT Modern Warfare, but Ghosts!

Activision has announced that the next Call of Duty game will be Call of Duty: Ghosts. Developer Infinity Ward is working on the game with a new engine. It looks like the tradition of having a new Modern Warfare game every two years has been broken. What will probably stay the same is Bobby Kotick jumping into even more giant piles of money.

The announcement comes with a release date, a cryptic key art (see above), and a teaser trailer. The teaser trailer does a really good job of teasing, since it doesn’t show any gameplay and only shows different types of warriors through the ages with masks on. Does that mean we can be killer futuristic samurai soldiers? Probably not, but it looks like a certain famous black ski skull mask is back.

But don’t think it’s Ghost from Modern Warfare 2, since Infinity Ward is promising a new world, story, and characters.

Ghosts will be available on November 5, 2013, for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. It will also be available for the PS4 and next Xbox.

A first look at the game will debut on May 21 at 10AM PDT on, Xbox Live or SPIKE TV.
