Showtime announces the 8th season of Dexter is its last

One of the greatest shows currently on TV has officially announced that this upcoming season will be the final season of Dexter.  Showtime had a great 7-year run, with it gaining a very strong and loyal following with people across all demographics. I mean, who doesn’t love an anti-hero?

If you have never seen or heard of Dexter before, then you must live under a rock. Dexter is the story of Dexter Morgan (played by Michael C. Hall), a blood spatter analyst for the Miami police department who is secretly a serial killer. But he doesn’t kill the innocent, he finds cases that are unresolved and gains the proof he needs to murder bad people. Throughout the show he has an internal struggle with his own identity and psychological problems as a sociopath talking to the ghost of his dead father Harry, who was a cop, who trained him to turn his murdering ways into a way of good.

I am very sad at this announcement, and with such great seasons including the likes of John Lithgow and Yvonne Strahovski with a great case of supporting actors. Here is a preview of the upcoming 8th and final season of Dexter.
