Batman: Arkham Origins announced as prequel game to Arkham Asylum and Arkham City

Warner Bros Interactive and DC Entertainment have just announced the prequel game to Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Batman: Arkham Origins is going to be a prequel game from the Arkham franchise.

The sad news is that Rocksteady won’t be returning to develop the game. The team behind the prequel will be WB Games Montréal. They’re no strangers to working on the Batman games, since they have worked on Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition for the Wii U.

The game will follow Batman when he was younger as he starts to become the Dark Knight we all know and love.

It looks like the rumor about Rocksteady working on a Batman game featuring Justice League members might be true (we’ll wait to hear more info).

Batman: Arkham Origins will be available on October 25, 2013, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC.

Also coming out on the same day is Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.
