Confirmed: Sherlock will have a fourth season

Exciting news! According to Radio Times, Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) has confirmed that there will be a fourth season of BBC’s Sherlock. Both Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman (Dr. John Watson) will return for a fourth season with three 90-minute episodes.

Cumberbatch said about the fourth season, “We’ve agreed to two more series but I could get into trouble for saying that… All I know at the moment is I’m doing these three [episodes of the upcoming third season] and another three.”

He expressed he’d like to continue to play this character for a fourth season. Anything after that… we will have to see. With their rising star status and film work, who knows if there will be a fifth season. We will just have to keep the faith they will remain as the iconic duo for more seasons.

Script reading has started this past week, with filming begins next week. Season 3 is scheduled to air (in the UK) in the fall… possibly.

We will get more information and keep you informed.
