UPDATE: Videogamer reported that Ubisoft will release Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag before the end of 2013, the game is the works by Ubisoft Montreal, Annecy and Bucharest. Several LinkedIn profiles of Ubisoft employees have indicated that the game will ship in 2013. The protagonist is Edward Kenway, a known Privateer and the father of Haytham Kenway of ACIIII. The game is set in the Carribean islands including Jamaica, Cuba and Bahamas. Thanks for the update Chris.

Earlier this year, Ubisoft’s CEO announced that a new Assassin’s Creed game would be coming next year. While that wasn’t a surprise to anyone, the surprising info was that the new game would feature a new hero and be set in a new era. With Assassin’s Creed event happening tomorrow, we have our first possibly leaked look of the new title, hero, and the era of Assassin’s Creed IV (image from Kotaku).
