Warner Bros. CFO leaks that Arkham City follow-up will release this year

Ever since the release of Arkham City, Rocksteady has teased fans about the possibility of a third Arkham game. Up til now, there has been no word on if another game would come to fruition. That has now changed. In a recent earnings report call for Time Warner Management, CFO John K.Martin let the news slip that there will be another Arkham title and that it will be releasing this year.

And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013.

The question is, where will they go with this new title? In Arkham City, we saw the addition of so many more characters from the Batman universe. There’s been a few rumors rolling around, one being that the Justice League would be included, which would make things interesting. I personally wouldn’t mind some appearances, but I don’t want them permeating my Batman game. I think it would just detract from it.

What would you like to see in the next Arkham City game? And just for kicks, queue the R. Kelly Gotham City song from Batman and Robin….I really hate that song…
