The Walking Dead Escape: Registration open!

Ever wanted to participate in being a zombie or running away from one?

During San Diego Comic Con, The Walking Dead Escape will be happening close by at Petco Park in San Diego. You can either be a survivor (run and hide from the zombies), a walker (zombie), spectator (just watching) or a horde hero (extended make-up).

Survivors go in waves of 15 minutes through the course and must avoid the undead. As a walker, you stalk the course for 2.5 hours and will receive a pro makeup session and Walker training. For the VIP treatment, you pay extra to be a Horde Hero. As a Horde Hero, you will receive an extended pro makeup session, Walker training, and the option to haunt the course for as long as you please. Spectators can watch the Apocalypse from the sidelines at the Escape Party with food and beverages.

  • Survivors: $75
  • Walkers: $75
  • Specators: $20
  • Heroes: $149

The course is in Petco Park and will have different sections: Evacuation Zone, Herd Highway, Hospital Hell, The Prison Gauntlet, The Governor’s Gladiators, and Quarantine.

Here are some more information from the website:

  • The average time of completion is 35-45 minutes.
  • The Walking Dead Escape is not a race. No one is timed, and you are not required to run, but the slow usually die for a reason.
  • Be prepared to climb, crawl, and slide.
  • Depending on the encountered Walker, you may need to move briskly or lightly jog in an effort to avoid infection.
  • No one will be disqualified if they cannot complete an obstacle.
  • The course has been specifically designed for participants with a wide range of abilities. Each obstacle is created to include an “easier route” for participants with limited physical abilities.
  • The Evacuation Route will feature multiple obstacles such as cargo nets and barricades.
  • There are water stations on course.
