David Goyer’s Da Vinci’s Demons gets a poster art

I’ve enjoyed some of David Goyer’s writings like Blade and the Dark Knight trilogy, but when it comes to his directing (Blade Trinity and The Unborn)…forget about it. He’s got some big roles to fill later this year with writing the upcoming Man of Steel film and creating and writing the Starz original series, Da Vinci’s Demons. He’ll also be directing the first two episodes. It reminds me of movies like Sherlock Holmes and The Raven, where they’re taking historical figures and turning them into action heroes.

Starz has released the poster art for Da Vinci’s Demons featuring Tom Riley as Leonardo da Vinci.

Synopsis:

While the da Vinci depicted in the history books was renowned for his works of art and inventions that included the calculator, army tank, diving suit, solar power and many more, “Da Vinci’s Demon’s” depicts a 25-year-old da Vinci on the cusp of greatness, with intellect and talents that are almost superhuman. In the series, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time, tortured by his unsurpassed intellect. He begins to not only see the future, but invent it.

Da Vinci’s Demons premieres on Friday, April 12 at 10pm ET/PT. After the premiere it will air Friday nights at 9pm ET/PT on STARZ.
