Assassin’s Creed III Liberation: Disguise yourself as a slave, lady or assassin

Ubisoft has released a new story trailer and persona information for Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation. The story trailer gives us a glimpse of Aveline’s story on why she fights for liberty.

Our main protagonist, Aveline de Granpré, is an assassin born from a wealthy French father and an African mother. Through her father she’s able to mingle with the elites during 18th century New Orleans. The most interesting thing about the game is that it tackles the subject of slavery. By switching outfits, Aveline is able to blend in her environments by using different personas.

Lady Persona

Using her Lady Persona, Aveline can gain access to areas that are only open to the elite. She’ll be dressed up in the wealthiest attire in order to mingle with the upper class. The bad thing about this outfit is that she’s limited to what weapons she can carry.

Slave Persona

By dressing up as a commoner, Aveline is able to blend in with slaves, indentured servants and other workers. If she gets caught, she can quickly blend in with other workers by picking up a crate or sweeping the floor. She can also call on the aide of other workers to cause a scene on her behalf. This outfit will limit her on what she can carry though.

Assassin Persona

The deadliest persona of the bunch, Aveline isn’t restricted in areas that involve combat, agility and durability. So what’s the downside? She sticks out like a sore thumb. Guards will naturally be uneasy when they see a female carrying deadly weapons.

You’ll also get to see Connor’s cameo in the story trailer above.

Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation will be available for the PlayStation Vita on October 30, 2012.
