Update: Star Trek Into Darkness needs more likes to see trailer is a fake

The fake Facebook page has been deleted. It was, indeed, a fake.

According to Paramount Pictures, this facebook page is a FAKE.

This is indeed depressing.

The new trailer for JJ Abrams‘ Star Trek sequel is complete, but according to their facebook page,

“An exclusive trailer from Star Trek Into Darkness will be posted when we reach 500,000 likes! Share this to your friends! The fate of our page rests in your hands. Live long and prosper.”

This is a great marketing technique to gather more fans and anticipation for the sequel.

The Star Trek sequel has been able to keep everything under wraps including the identity of Benedict Cumberbach‘s character. Is he Khan or isn’t he?

All I know is that I need to see this trailer, so please, LIKE this page and share it with everyone. We need 500,000 LIKES!

As a bonus for ‘liking’ the page, you are automatically entered into their Star Trek Contest to win an all-expenses paid trip for you and five friends to the exclusive premiere in Hollywood, California – including meeting the cast, cash prize and travel expenses. Winner will be announced in April.

Star Trek Into Darkness will open to all theaters on May 17, 2013.
