a-JAYS One+ earphones review

I think I’ve owned every type of earphones possible. Either they stopped working, or my pet rabbit chewed the cord, I tend to buy new headphones every few months – including JAYS earphones- which my pet rabbit considered a delicious snack.  The good folks of JAYS sent me a pair of their new a-Jays One+ Earphones. It comes loaded with a built-in microphone, remote control and multiple comfort ear pieces.

I liked JAYS brand because their cords do not tangle easily. I tend to avoid any thin string earphones because of that. The white earphones match well with my white Android phone, white iPad and white iPhone (yes, I tested it on all of them).

They are light to carry around. The only problem I had with it was not compact. It didn’t wrap well around my phones. I placed it in a small pouch whenever I’m not using it. The earphone cups are adjustable – they provide you with different sizes for your ear size. They are really comfortable – even when you jam it into your ears. The microphone/controller is on the right side of the earphone and does not get in the way of usage.

The case is also very sleek in design. You need to push in the button and push up to open the case. It has a very intricate design and do not try to snap off the top.

I downloaded the Android application JAYS recommended to use with the earphones – JAYS Headset Control. It allowed me to adjust what controls I wanted to use with the button.

All the controls seemed to work well except when lowering the volume down. Using Easy Mode to lower the volume, you must double click on the button and hold. For some reason, it did not work for me and kept increasing the volume (which was one click and hold).

I was very satisfied with my previous JAYS purchase and am glad to say, I am very satisfied with this a-JAYS One+ set. With the 20 -18,000 Hz frequency, music and bass quality was very clear and has great sound quality. Conversations over the earphones picked up sounds that were far away. During my phone conversation, I was able to hear the background noise very clearly– including a dog barking that was a floor level below than the person I was conversing with.

Retailed at $64.99, the a-JAYS One+ Earphones is definitely an upgrade from my previous purchase. The sound quality and built-in microphone and remote makes the price worth it. You have full control of your sound and your phone conversations (to pick up or decline a call, hang up, etc). When using voice control, the earphones also worked well in picking up what I was saying and was able to detect what I was looking for (including with Siri).

The sound quality and usage were the same when used on the Android, iPod, iPad and iPhone – but JAYS Headset Control App is currently only for Android.

The a-JAYS One+ Earphones is really easy to use and provides multiple uses – to talk on the phone (or decline), listen to music and videos, and sound commands. If you’re looking for something that can have multiple uses for your smart phone, this is clearly a winner.
