Uncharted movie getting new directors

Variety recently reported that the Uncharted movie was getting new directors, Marianne and Cormac Wibberly, the directors of National Treasure. You may remember Neil Burger (Limitless), after David O. Russel left, was attached to direct the PlayStation hit game by Naughty Dog, but no more.

The Wibberleys will need to complete the script before the project moves forward. I personally can’t wait to see how they bring this video game to life. Most game-to-movie adaptations never really give the games respect. I think the reason for that is that movie companies change the story way too much from the source material. Games have everything laid out and the fear is that no one will see the movie if they know what’s going to happen. I just hope the Wibberleys don’t change the story too much and can setup to make adaptations of all the Uncharted games.
