Fast and Furious 6 begins production and gets The Raid: Redemption’s Joe Taslim

Director Justin Lin tweeted this morning “It’s 2am & just got up for the 1st day of FF6. Always love the calm & silence of the night b4 going on set. Let’s go shoot a [email protected]‘ movie!” Obviously, the movie he is talking about is the still untitled Fast and Furious 6. At the end of Fast Five *SPOILER* we see Han and Gisele heading into Germany, as well as a post-credits scene with Hobbs (The Rock) and Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes) talking about past ghosts in the form of the “dead” Letty Ortiz ( Michelle Rodriguez).

This next film is set to center around a possible European heist against a rival criminal team. We already know the normal players will be in the film: Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Dwayne Johnson. New to the franchise will be: main villain Luke Evans (Robin Hood, The Hobbit), a member of Hobbs team Gina Carano (Haywire), British model Clara Paget (unsure of her role, but it might be bad turned good guy) and the newest addition Joe Taslim (The Raid: Redemption)

In The Raid: Redemption, he was the sergeant with the knife that was f’in stuff up. In Fast and Furious 6, his martial arts skills will be put to good use as he is Jah, a fearless killer that utilizes both parkour and martial arts to defeat opponents. This next film looks to be ridiculously huge and I definitely can’t wait to see it. Chris Morgan, who wrote the past 3 F&F movies will be scripting this as well and Neal Moritz who produced the past 2 films. The Fast and Furious 6 is set to hit theaters on May 24, 2013.
