Ryan Reynolds will star in Highlander reboot…great…

Hasn’t he ruined enough franchises already? It has been confirmed that Reynolds will be taking up Clan McLeod’s mantle for the Highlander reboot. The original franchise has lasted the test of time much like it’s main character, Conner McLeod. There has been multiple sequels, as well as a television show and an animated series.

The film will be headed by director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, whose most notable work came from 28 Weeks Later. He was also at one point attached to direct the Bioshock film. There are no plot details at this time, but it is noted that the original script which was written by Twilight screenwriter, Melissa Rosenberg has been rewritten. And who better to rewrite it than Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.

So hopefully there will NOT be another Green Lantern movie and we get a decent Deadpool movie, but I’m not too fond of the idea that Reynolds will be handling the Highlander reboot. He needs to prove to a lot of people as well as myself that he’s not always the same exact character in every movie like he normally is. There’s no word yet on a release date, much less a start date for shooting.
