E3 2012: New COD: Black Ops 2 gameplay trailer reveals more of the same
During Microsoft’s Press Conference, a new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was released. While fans are still puzzled over the fact that Frank Woods and Alex Mason are still alive, the new trailer gave fans a first look at Black Ops 2’s gameplay. For the most part, the trailer showcased various run-of-the-mill, typical Call of Duty situations. Your vehicle crashes, you crawl out of the vehicle, and you start shooting people. If only I had a dollar for every time a helicopter came hurdling at me, I’d be a rich man.
The trailer also shows off the new ridiculously overpowered Sniper Rifle. The gun allows you to shoot through any material that stands between you and your enemies. It also allows you to blow up nearby cars with one shot. The trailer also shows that you will be able to control attack drones that will aid you in your fight. You also jump into a fighter jet that you’ve never flown before and take down other fighter pilots who probably had more experience in flying that type of jet than you.
For the most part, the trailer continues to show what we’ve already seen before in various other Call of Duty titles, besides the advancements in technology. The one part I did enjoy from the trailer was how Treyarch captured the look of Downtown LA. Having just visited the Convention Center, I couldn’t help but notice that I was shooting off rounds right next to the Staples Center. Laker riot, anyone?
I’m not going to lie to you, I’m not really looking forward to this game. Hopefully my visit to the Activision booth later this week will change that, but I seriously doubt it.
