Punch your ticket to hell – Doom BFG Edition is coming!

One of the best FPS games of all time is coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Bethsda Softworks and id Software have announced the Doom 3 BFG Edition will be hitting stores this Fall. For the few that may not know, “BFG” stands for Big F#@#ing Gun. The pack itself will include the original Doom, Doom II, Doom 3, Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil and 7 new levels called “The Lost Mission.” Everything has been remastered for current consoles, but to take it a step further, Doom 3, Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Mission will have 3D optimization, improved lighting and rendering and 5.1 surround sound.

id has also updated the checkpoint system as well as revising the controls for easier use. I am definitely looking forward to this special pack, as Doom has been quite the staple to me as a gamer. It was one of the first shooters that I had ever played and it scared the crap out of me. Doom 3 offered one of the best co-op experiences I have ever had as well. Sure, playing Halo in co-op was awesome, but Doom 3 I think was right there with it. One of my best friends’ used to bring his Xbox and little TV over to my place and we would play system link co-op with all the lights off. Talk about scary as shit!

There has not been an official release date as of yet, but look for it to hit stores this Fall. Meanwhile, check out the trailer below.
