The ‘noobz’ movie trailer be reppin’ the online gaming community

We’ve had our fair share of movies involving the video game culture like Wizard, Grandma’s Boy, and The Last Starfighter. As a gamer, I always get a kick out of watching these types of movies. noobz is the next video game culture movie to be added that follows four friends as they head towards Los Angeles to compete in a Gears of War tournament. Just think of it like Fanboys and Paul, where geeks travel great distances in the name of geekdom. Zelda Williams, Robin Williams’ daughter and named after Zelda from The Legend of Zelda, also stars in the film. Check out the trailer below.

Written and directed by Blake Freeman, and co-written by Marvin Willson, noobz tells the story of four friends and their outrageous escapades as they journey across America in order to compete in and earn the Cyberbowl video game championship.

Jason Mewes (Jay and Silent Bob), Blake Freeman (Gawd Bless America), Moises Arias (Ender’s Game), Matt Shively (True Jackson, VP), Zelda Williams, Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) and Jon Gries (Napoleon Dynamite).

noobz is set to be released in theaters in Summer 2012.
