Maybe it’s time to get a bigger SD Card as Nintendo eShop limit is 2 Gigs

Whenever you want to release a downloadable game on a platform like Xbox Live, you are given a limit to how big the file can be. Nintendo has a similar limit for its Wiiware, capped at 40MB, but when it comes to games released on the 3DS, the cap has been raised to 2 GB.

To developers this makes a big difference. XBLA ended up having to increase the size to better fit the needs for people wanting to release games. It’s a surprise to See Nintendo giving more room for a handheld over the home console, but it may just hint that the 3DS may have something like older DS games or big surprises still to come, especially with the 3D capabilities.

So if you buy a lot of Download content, it might be time to up those SD Cards. I know I switched out the 8GB card I had on my Wii for the 4 GB that was in my 3DS originally.
