Review: Warpia ConnectHD SWP400VC – Couch Skyping at its finest

First unveiled at CES 2012, the Warpia ConnectHD SWP400VC is an all-in-one solution to wireless streaming, video conferencing, and high definition recording. Utilizing a wide angle webcam and multidirectional microphone, the ConnectHD allows video chat at 720p with wireless streaming at 1080p.

The SWP400VC is an improvement on Warpia’s original PC-TV design with a built-in camera.

The Package includes the camera/receiver, a USB adapter, HDMI cable (6 feet), microphone, and installation disk.

This is a great solution for anybody tired of squinting at their laptop when watching movies, shows, reading articles (Nerdreactor.com articles that is), gaming, or anything you would do on your desktop.

So what is the big advantage you may ask? Well on top of being a great product for use at home, it is also fairly compact and easy to use for travel purposes. Need to have a Skype conference from your hotel room? No problem. Simply connect the device to any HDMI supporting TV and plug the adapter into your laptop. While everybody else squints at their screens, you can kick back and watch everything from a comfortable position. Finished with¬†business¬†and want to relax with a movie? Well don’t spend extra money on hotel rentals, just stream Netflix/Hulu/Whatever from your PC to the TV for your full entertainment pleasure.

Since the SWP400VC is wireless and works up to 30 feet away (with or without line of sight, although the manual says it is required), you can take the camera into a different room or set it up from any angle you may like. The camera mount is very bendable and can be easily set up on almost any type of display.

Priced at $199, this is also one of the most economical solutions for HD PC-TV streaming with a built-in 720p webcam. Two great products in a sleek and easy to manage package.

Check out this video for examples and some other ideas that can be manifested thanks to the ConnectHD SWP400VC.
