Yoshiki to Compose the Theme for the 2012 Golden Globes

Yoshiki has done many things in his life. He’s lead a very popular J-Rock band named X Japan, tour the world, star in his own comic book series with Stan Lee and Todd McFarlane, work with charities around the world by bringing music and food to the less fortunate, and now he can add composing the 2012 Golden Globes theme to that list.

The Golden Globes is shown in more than 190 countries, and you can imagine how big this is for Yoshiki. “The Golden Globe Awards are extremely prestigious, but the show is also edgy,” he said, as he attended the awards presentation for the first time last year. “I’m a classical pianist and a rock drummer, so it was natural to create something beautiful that also has an edge.”

The 69th Annual Golden Globes will be shown live on Sunday, January 15th, from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California and hosted by Ricky Gervais.
