iPhone 4S Unveiled at Apple’s Special Event

What is new to the iPhone family? Today CEO Tim Cook introduced the new iPhone 4S, which is the fifth edition to the iPhone. The iPhone will remain mostly the same in appearance, but will have upgraded software and hardware. Below is a list of the major improvements made to the iPhone 4S:

 

Processor            Dual-core A5 chip (Used in the iPad 2)

 

Carriers               AT&T, Verizon & now on the Sprint network

 

Color and            Same as the iPhone 4
Dimensions

 

Camera and         8 megapixels for camera

Video                  1080p 30 fps with video stabilization for video

 

iOS                      Version 5 (200 new features)

The iPhone will also add siri (voice assist), iCloud, and other enhancements. The smartphone will retail for $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB, and $399 for 64GB and of course with a two year obligation with the carrier.

 

Even though the iPhone 4S does not have a larger screen, teardrop back, 4G and other gossips from blogs and news articles. Hopefully, the iPhone 4S stacks up against the competition especially in a market with smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S II, Motorola Atrix 4G, HTC EVO 3D, and other competitive products.

 

Apple also reduced the prices on the iPod nano ($129 – $149) and iTouch ($199 – $399). The iTouch will also be available in white and run the new iOS 5 software.
