Jesper Kyd Returns as Composer for ‘Assassin’s Creed Revelations’

When Hans Zimmer announced a new contest where fans can submit their voices to be a part of Assassin’s Creed Revelations theme song (composed by Lorne Balfe), I was left confused as to whether or not Jesper Kyd was going to be scoring the sequel. Good news, today’s announcement confirms that he will be returning to the franchise to compose the score with music composed by Lorne Balfe.

Jesper Kyd composed AC1, 2, and Brotherhood, and will be mixing in Greek, Renaissance and Middle-Eastern instrumentation to create the feeling of 16th Century Constantinople for Revelations. His score is a nice blend of acoustic and electronic instruments that help translates the story’s theme of the distant future and history melding together.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations will be available on November 15, 2011, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of the legendary mentor Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region.
