Capcom brings Monster Hunting to Nintendo’s 3DS

What started as an innocent portable port has become a social phenomenon in the land of the rising sun. Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise has sold millions in its native country. At Nintendo’s 3DS Press Conference, Capcom has indeed announced an enhanced version of Monster Hunter tri G. This is not a port of Portable 3rd which was released last year on the PSP (Which recently just got an HD port on the PS3). It is set to be released December 10th of the this year in Japan.

Another interesting tidbit is a concept video of the series next major iteration, Monster Hunter 4. The concept was produced for the 3DS as well. From the looks of the trailer, it seems that terrains are no longer just flat but sloping landscapes will be utilized. Environments will also change depending on the monster’s actions. At the moment, it is merely still in concept stage, but I’m hoping Capcom freshens up the hunting experience beyond adding several new monsters.
