PSP VITA Specs and Screenshots

While there is still no firm release date for the U.S. or Japan version for the VITA, what we do know is that Japan will see the release sometime before the end of the year and U.S. and Europe will see it early 2012.

Over at Gamescom the VITA is being shown off in all its glory including the OS, and some of the apps Sony has been pushing. While I personally am still waiting to hear more about the system before release, we know it will also function as a PS3 controller and will also use the trophy system synched with your PS3, touch screen, gyro sensor and more. I would like to know more about the PS3/Store to Vita abilities. For example will my PS1 downloads and PSP downloads work on the VITA, because then I don’t have to worry about carrying both a VITA and PSP around to play some Xenogears, if I am in the mood.

TGS will more than likely give us all the answers, but we do know there are 2 models of the VITA, and it will be available in both a Wifi only and 3G version. America will be brought by AT&T (with no price info at this moment). The VITA will give us cross chat features that the PS3 can’t.
