Frank Darabont Steps Down from Handling ‘The Walking Dead’

What?! So I had a chance to interview Frank Darabont at San Diego Comic-Con the past week and it looked like everything was fine, but now we get this news that he is stepping down as the showrunner for The Walking Dead. I felt something was off when he wasn’t trying to promote what we can expect from Season 2 of the zombie apocalypse TV show. Deadline and EW confirmed the news.

So why is he stepping down as showrunner? Reports are saying that he’s not used to the fast-paced world of TV. I can kind of see that being true, since his movies are always slowly paced, and it seems like he’s the type of guy that would like to take his time in creating a project. It’s said that he’ll still be involved in the show somehow.

The show is expected to stay on course, and I’ll still be watching it. Stay tuned as we post up interviews from the cast and crew from The Walking Dead. The second season premieres on Sunday, October 16th at 9pm EST. It will have twice as many episodes compared to the first season, with 13 episodes total.

Here’s the trailer.
