EA Announces Dragon Age 2 Legacy DLC Release

EA has announced the release date for the downloadable add-on ‘Legacy’ and it will launch on July 26th. This is good news for all Dragon Age fans. Of course this download will come with a price tag like most DLCs. It will cost 800 Xbox 360 points, 800 BioWare points for PC and Mac, and $9.99 on the PS3. Keeping up with leading gaming trends, did we expect anything less?

Here is some excerpts to what BioWare had described the DLC to be.

“Targeted by a vicious criminal cartel that are hunting ‘the blood of the Hawke,’ you must put an end to their relentless attacks..leave Kirkwall, and journey to an ancient Grey Warden prison in order to find the source of the aggression and uncover the harsh truth about the Hawke lineage…playable from any point in the DAII campaign, face all new darkspawn, forge a powerful new weapon and come face to face with an ancient horror.”

Sounds entertaining. Why shouldn’t it be! I realize I just answered my own prompt, but seriously. When downloadable content use to be free, and either created by fans or a faction of the production team, we wouldn’t expect the worst while hoping to be unexpectedly surprised. Nowadays I expect the best because I am paying for it. Needless to say, this is just another 800 points out of my imaginary vault from my very real credit card.
