The Macho Man Passes Away

Some very sad news this morning for many Wrestling fans. Macho Man Randy Savage has passed away.

According to numerous reports, the Macho Man suffered a heart attack while he was driving and lost control of his vehicle, crashing into a tree. Savage was transported to Largo Medical center where he died from his injuries. Police have reported that no alcohol was involved, and that he and his wife Lynn were both wearing their seat-belts at the time of the crash.

Sadly, it was earlier this month that he celebrated his 1 year anniversary with his wife Lynn.

Despite what many probably think, Randy Savage was an educated man. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1971. After he finished college, he played minor league baseball for St. Louis Cardinals, Tampa Tarpons, Cincinnati Reds, and Chicago White Sox. His father and his older brother were both in the wrestling business and in 1973, he made his first wrestling debut as Spider Friend. That character was very similar to Spider-Man, which is kind of funny because he appeared in the first Spider-Man film, opposite Spider-Man in a Steel Cage match. He later on took the name Randy Savage after a booker said he wrestled like a Savage.

The Macho Man has had an illustrious career. From his reign as Intercontinental Champion, to his time in the NWO, and his feuds with Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Ric Flair. There is no doubt that he is in fact one of the greatest of all-time and will be sorely missed.

Here are some of my favorite Macho Man moments:
