Bungie Extended The Logo Trademark for ‘Destiny’, Possibly Their Next Game

We reported way back in February, that Bungie was using the word “Destiny” for something that they’re currently working on. Now we have even more proof of that based on the fact that Bungie has extended the trademark on March 7th, 2011 for the logo you see above, combined with the word “Destiny”. The logo was originally trademarked on January 20th, 2009. Well, it’s technically not Bungie who trademarked it, but a company owned by two of Bungie’s head guys, named Podophobia Entertainment Inc.

The logo is described as being for:

Computer game software; Computer game software downloadable from a global computer network; Video game software; Virtual reality game software.

Jonty Barnes, the executive producer at Bungie, has been seen in public wearing a shirt bearing the logo, giving more credence to the fact that this is definitely something that they might have already decided upon for their current project. It should be noted that Destiny could simply be the name of the service that runs their future games, downloads and whatever else they have (think Valve’s Steam service). It could also very well be the name of their next game, which is speculated to be some type of massive multi-player online game, but probably more in line with the action genre rather than RPG.

Thanks, VG24/7
