L.A. Noire Remix and Soundtrack Brings the 1940s to You

Alright you lovers of video game music, Rockstar Games has announced two music compilations from L.A. Noire, L.A. Noire: Remixed and the L.A. Noire Official Soundtrack.

L.A. Noire: Remixed features six classic jazz songs that can be heard throughout the world of L.A. Noire being remixed by renowned DJs, producers, and remixers like Dave Sitek, DJ Premier and Truth & Soul. It’s being produced with the help from Verve Records.

L.A. Noire: Remixed Tracklist
1. Elle Fitzgerald & Louis Jordan – “Stone Cold Dead in the Market” (Ticklah remix)
2. Lionel Hampton & His Orchestra – “Hey-Ba-Ba-Re-Bop” (Midnight Sun remix)
3. Dinah Washington – “A Slick Chick (On the Mellow Side)” (Maximum Balloon remix)
4. Louis Jordan – “Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens” (DJ Premier remix)
5. Gene Krupa – “Sing Sing Sing” (Truth & Soul Remix)
6. Billie Holiday – “That Ol’ Devil Called Love” (Moodymann remix)

L.A. Noire Official Soundtrack will feature original score inspired by the orchestral score of films in the 1940s. It’s being composed by Andrew Hale, who’s worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and The Getaway. The soundtrack also includes modern takes on torch classics by Stephen Coates (The Real Tuesday Weld) with guest vocals by Claudia Brucken (Propaganda) and additional scores by Woody Jackson (Red Dead Redemption).

In the game, you’ll get to hear over 32 classic jazz tracks, with musicians like Billie Holiday, Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Thelonious Monk. That’s one of the reasons why I love Rockstar Games, they really care about giving you an authentic music experience.

L.A. Noire: Remixed and the L.A. Noire Official Soundtrack will be available on iTunes on May 17.
