GSC’s Charity Miku Nendoroid sell like hotcakes

Besides singing, getting her own video game, and dazzling the stage, Virtual Idol Hatsune Miku of VOCALOID can add another accomplishment to her impressive resume, philanthropist. Back in Early April, Good Smile Company began taking pre-orders for a Special Charity relief edition of Japan’s adorable Hatsune Miku Nendoroid. (Nendoroids are miniaturized figures of popular anime/game characters). The figure retails for 3000 yen($37) and from each sale, GSC will donate 1000 yen ($12.50) to the Japan Red Cross.  Now they have reported that 74,394 Miku preorders were made during its 3 week window (4/8-4/27). That’s 74,394,000 yen. With today’s conversion rates , that’s $919,353 dollars! Wow, just 100k short of a million. Just another impressive feat that Miku can do! Don’t worry Japan, she’s got your back!
